Terms of service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Kin service. By creating an account you agree to them.

The service

Kin is a family coordination platform: shared tasks and chores, a shared calendar, shopping lists, repeating routines, and role-based permissions — with optional connections to outside calendars and optional AI-assisted features. The service is provided "as is" and may change over time.

Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Kin account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure; notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

Circles & membership

The circle owner is responsible for the circle and its members. You may add minors to your circle; as the owner you take responsibility for their usage. You must not add members without their consent (or the consent of their guardian for minors).

Acceptable use

You may not use Kin to harass, harm, or deceive others; to distribute spam or malware; to reverse-engineer or attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access; or for any unlawful purpose.

Connected accounts

Connecting a third-party calendar (such as Google or Microsoft) is entirely optional. Your use of that account remains governed by that provider's own terms as well as these. Kin's access is read-only: it can read the calendars you select so their events appear alongside your family's, and it cannot create, edit or delete anything in them. You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Connected services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or continued operation of a third-party provider's service or data.

Beta, and what happens when we charge

Kin is in beta and there is nothing to pay: no plan is for sale, no card is collected, and no subscription is running. If that changes, we will say so clearly and in advance. No existing family will be moved onto a paid plan without an explicit yes from the circle owner — silence is not consent, and we will not start charging an account that simply keeps using Kin. When we do introduce a paid plan, it will be priced per family rather than per member: adding a person to your circle will not increase what you pay.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kin's liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alicante, Spain.
