These terms are the agreement between you and FJComputers SL ("we", "us") for using Kin: the app, the website and the services behind them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your family's information.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, or by tapping "I agree" when we update these terms, you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use Kin.
2. Who can use Kin
- To create your own account you must be 18 or older.
- Children can be part of Kin only through a parent or legal guardian, who adds them to a circle as a profile they manage, or sets up a child login for them. The parent accepts these terms for the child and is responsible for the child's use of Kin.
- If you invite someone, or add a child, you confirm you're allowed to share their details with Kin for that purpose.
3. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account, and for the child logins you set up.
- Tell us at hello@fjcomputers.es if you think someone else is using your account.
- Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date.
4. Circles and roles
A circle is a family's shared space. The owner manages it: who's in it, their roles and their permissions. The owner can hand the circle to another parent. Members see what the circle shares with them; private tasks and events are visible only to the person who made them.
5. What you can and can't do
Use Kin to organise your family's life. Don't:
- use it to break the law, or to harm, harass or track anyone without their knowledge;
- upload content you have no right to share, or that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, violent or hateful;
- try to get into other people's accounts or circles, or into our systems;
- copy, resell, reverse-engineer or overload the service, or scrape it automatically, except where the law allows it;
- use Kin to collect information about children outside your own family.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
6. Your content
What you and your family put in Kin (tasks, events, lists, photos, notes) stays yours. You give us permission to store, copy, process and show it only as needed to run Kin for you and your circle: to keep it, sync it between your devices, and show it to the members you share it with. This permission ends when the content is deleted.
7. AI features
Some features use AI to make suggestions. They're off until a member of your circle turns them on, and the Privacy Policy explains what they send. Suggestions can be wrong: check them before you rely on them. Nothing is added to your family's plans until you accept it.
8. Reminders and notifications
Kin sends reminders and notifications to help you, but they depend on your phone, its settings, your connection, and other companies such as Apple and Google. Don't rely on Kin alone for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as medication, safety or legal deadlines.
9. Connected services
If you connect a calendar from Google, Microsoft or Apple, a calendar feed link, or the Kin skill for Amazon Alexa, Kin uses it as you asked. Those services have their own terms. You can disconnect at any time.
10. Deleting your account, a child's profile, or a circle
- You can delete your account in Settings → Your data. Your account is closed straight away and can't be used to sign in. It's deleted for good after 30 days. Until then, we can restore it if you write to hello@fjcomputers.es.
- If you own a circle, you first hand it to another parent, or delete the circle for everyone. Nobody can delete another adult's own account; each adult deletes their own.
- A parent can delete a child's profile, with the same 30 days.
- A deleted circle stays read-only for its members for 30 days, so each of them can download their own information. Then it's deleted for good.
11. Changes to Kin and to these terms
Kin changes as we improve it; we may add, change or remove features. When we change these terms, the app shows you the new version with a short summary of what changed, and asks you to accept it before you carry on. If you don't accept it, you can download your data and delete your account.
12. Our responsibility
- We provide Kin with reasonable care and skill, but as it is: it may have errors or be unavailable at times, and we don't promise it will meet every need.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by things outside our control, including a reminder that didn't arrive (section 8).
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Kin and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms, or suspend Kin for you, if you seriously or repeatedly break them, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we'll give you notice and a chance to download your data first.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please write to us at hello@fjcomputers.es; most problems can be solved that way.
